Cochlear Implant fundraising
Yacqui fell ill when she was 18 and living with siblings. Too late did they realize how serious it was and by then, she had gone deaf. When a specialist confirmed she was a candidate for a cochlear implant, our donors flew into action to raise the necessary funds for the expensive procedure. Yacqui is now loving life again, listening to music and preparing to enter university. Her dream is to become a sign language teacher!
Education
While public school is free in Peru, uniforms and supplies are not. We also support any girl who wishes to continue with university. Your donations help us give every girl the educational experience she deserves!
Childhood Experiences
Health. Education. Security. These are so important. But Hogar de Gina takes ‘care’ a step further. We want these girls to experience a real childhood. Whether it is getting to celebrate holidays or birthdays, enjoy a day at the pool or park, or see a movie in a real cinema, childhood experiences say to a child “you are worthy of joy and laughter” and “your past trauma does not have to define your future”.
